Yacht Charters - CaribbeanCruising Area & Coastline

The Caribbean Sea has two main Yacht Charters regions – Cuba and the Leeward & Windward Islands.

There are almost no reefs along the coastline of the Leeward Islands, making them to a Yacht Charters area equally beloved by yachting beginners and experienced skippers. The British virgin Islands are situated closely to each other, thus being the ideal sailing region for families and relaxed Yacht Charters crews. We also recommend this region to crews sailing for the first time in the Caribbean. There are many magnificent and safe bathing bays with sparkling blue water and white sand beaches. Martinique, one of the southern islands of the Windwards, is probably the most popular starting point for Yacht Charters cruises in the Caribbean. Due to its unique French atmosphere, the island is beloved by charter tourists.

Each island of the Caribbean Yacht Charters region has its very own and special character. While a Yacht Charters cruise you can visit many of them, for example the British Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands, Antigua and Guadeloupe, the Windward Islands starting from Martinique to the Grenadines. Yacht Charters bases are situated on the following islands: Antigua, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Margarita, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Martin and Tortola.

Weather & Winds

Due to the typical tropical climate, the air temperature in the Caribbean Sea stays contstant between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius all over the year. The average water temperature in this area is about 27 degrees Celsius. Therefore, sunny Yacht Charters cruises are possible in any period of the year.

The hottest period with high air humidity is from July till December.

Trade winds usually blow from the north-east, reaching the stregth of 3-5 Beaufort. The winds are stronger in December and January. Hurricanes may occur during the period between May and November.

Yacht Charters - CaribbeanHighlights

Yacht Charters crews looking for comfort and good service in the Caribbean Sea, shall go sailing around Tortola. There, they will find gorgeous sand beaches, clear water as well as numerous great restaurants offering high service and quality standards, which are rare in the Caribbean.

The yachting region arount St. Martin is really exciting, because of the different cultures on each island. For instance, you can visit the English island Anguilla with its long sand beaches, the French St. Barth’s with good restaurants and the dutch St. Maarten.

Northerly from Martinique, the island Guadeloupe is situated, which will show to its Yacht Charters guests the most original settlements and lifestyle in the Caribbean sailing area.

Martinique – probably one of the most known Caribbean islands – was defined by the French culture. The island has kept this special charm until now. Starting your Yacht Charters cruise in Martinique, you can sail in the southern direction to the islands St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Bequia and Grenada. Sailing between Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent includes open sea passages. Further southerly, the distances between the islands are shorter. Our tip: visit the original Basils Bar on the island Moustique and the famous Horseshoe Reefs in Tabago Cays.

The island Grenada is famous for spicery, grown on its plantations.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane is possible from the most European and Russian airports via Paris. Air France offers flights to different Caribbean islands.
